Convertible Arbitrage Trader Skills required: - financial analysis, must be able to analyse and make judgements on corporate valuations and credit worthiness - derivatives valuation, must be able to price complex instruments incorporating equity, credit, foreign exchange, and interet rate derivatives, identifying arbitrage opportunities when they exist - prospectus analysis, must be able to analyse prospectuses in depth in order to identify unapparent risks and opportunties - risk management, must be able measure and minimize risks on a complex portfolio of instruments with varying degrees of correlation - in depth knowledge of convertible bond market, must have an in depth understaning of the cb market including market playersn drivers, practices, instruments, and issuers, as well as understaning its roles and interactions with broader markets. - trading experience, must have experience profitably trading flow markets, providing liquidity while not generating outsize risks. - business management skills, must be able continue to operate and grow business generating revenue from a variety of sources in concert with research, sales, origination as well as other trading desks.
